Background
I have been active in Christian counseling related ministries for many years, and have had 30 years of experience in child development and education, including preschool teaching, running a licensed home daycare facility, and raising and educating my own four children. I made the decision to pursue my lifelong dream of obtaining formal graduate training in counseling in 2003, and now feel greatly fulfilled in this career.

Christian Faith
I am a Christian. My faith values are embedded in my life and inherently influence my counseling. I am sensitive to the importance of various faith perspectives in a person’s journey and welcome diverse clients to my practice. If you desire, we will incorporate Christian faith principles in your counseling.

Personal Interests
In my personal life I enjoy spending time with my husband, my children and grandchildren; reading to continue my education; and staying active and healthy through recreational activities like hiking, swimming, and traveling.

Counseling Process

In counseling, I offer a caring and professional presence to accompany you as you seek growth and authenticity as a person, healing from life wounds, and fulfillment in healthy interpersonal relationships. Counseling is a collaborative partnership that requires each of our commitment and time. I work with each client to individualize my counseling services, continually re-assessing each person’s needs and ongoing goals. Some people have found one or two sessions to be helpful in clarifying specific, short-term concerns, whereas most clients experience the greatest benefit over the course of several months or more. I strive to help clients explore the root issues behind their concerns through an ongoing relationship. Many past clients who have been very successful with their goals have obtained sessions a few times a month for about a year.

For individual work, I commonly use Lifespan Integration Therapy. For couple work, I draw from the Gottman Model Therapy (The Gottman Institute).

My commonly served areas include:

• Past and present relational trauma
• Posttraumatic stress and complex PTSD
• General anxiety
• Children with attachment insecurities
• Sandtray work
• Grief and loss
• Pre-marital counseling
• Marital enrichment
• Intimate relationship concerns
• Depression

Lifespan Integration

Change the impact of your own life history.

Lifespan Integration (LI) therapy is a counseling technique particularly suited to address traumas and anxiety. I offer LI for clients whose present day lives are impacted by difficult current and past experiences. Through Lifespan Integration, clients:

Heal without retraumatizing
Resolve ineffective behavior patterns
Promote confidence and well-being

After sessions of LI therapy, clients report feeling better about life. They have less reaction to trauma, they acquire stronger self-acceptance and self-esteem, and they are empowered for greater satisfaction in life relationships.
